Tattoo Protips

Tacitus brings 'em.

Seriously, when there's a Totally Tattoo Barbie, you're not chasin' what you think you're chasin'.  Srlsy.

It's not always about being nonconformist. My wife and I got tattoos together when we found out we might not have many more chances to do things together. She wanted to do something crazy, and I went along with her. I'm not the least bit sorry either.

I got a cartoon character over my left shoulder blade; it's inoffensive (although me removing my shirt is not) and it's never visible unless I want it to be. She got our kids' names written above one ankle and the Chinese words for "love" and "friendship" above the other. I thought they were tasteful, and they were great conversation starters.

I'm not generally a big fan of tattoos, but several people I work with, who responded to the Virginia Tech Shootings, got tattoos of the "ribbon" (similar to the one seen here) not long afterward. I actually considered it myself, but only briefly. It's the closest I've ever come to getting one.
