Back in Texas

I didn't hit the road at my planned 0600, but rather at 0730. Duty called, but since Duty didn't bring MPs with him, Duty had to wait.

Probably another five and a half hours to go. Cheapest gas I've seen is $3.19 at the Walmart in Monroe, LA.

The gas could be a lot worse, my friend. It's $3.85 here, and it's higher than that outside of the Anchorage area.

Travel safely.

If I would have known you were driving through today, we would have bought you dinner or something.

Boy, back in Texas and back home can be so different. My wife's parents drove down here and were so excited when they crossed the border because they were "almost there". Or, only about 8 more hours away.

Belle, thanks. Fortunately, there's cold beer here at FOB Borepatch.

Cold beer? Result.

Read about the Medal of Honor award -- humbling...

God bless.

I'll give you a jingle on the phone Sunday to catch up. It's been a hell of a week. Glad you got to go home to see Mrs. B. and the family.

$3.58 here. I'm glad I'm not living over an hour drive from the office any more.
