What gun would you buy for your first one? Your second?

ASM826 is collecting suggestions.  He's an agitator, well known to the authorities.  Like the Marine Corps ...

We could use more agitators.  Go leave your suggestion over there.

A CMP Garand - and now that you can, you should too. :-)

The very first gun I got was a Buck Mark. 22 cal. It cost almost nothing to learn how to shoot. There is a lot more to shooting then just pulling a trigger. You need to know how to stand, how to point the weapon, cripes even how to hold the weapon.

Yep, that ole pea shooter helped me to build the basic skills before I jumped to my Colt 45 1911.

I didn't have a choice in my first gun as it was a family heirloom. It was my great-grandfather's Win. Model 12 pump in 20 ga. with two different interchangeable fixed choke barrels. One was a skeet choke barrel and the other was a field grade full choke barrel. Pretty damned good for a 10 year old's first gun.
