Creation

There are innumerable questions to which the inquisitive mind can in this state receive no answer: Why do you and I exist? Why was this world created? Since it was to be created, why was it not created sooner?
- Samuel Johnson
To my Jewish readers, Shana Tova Umetukah.

To readers not familiar with Rosh Hashanah, the simple explanation is that it's the start of the Jewish New Year. That explanation isn't very interesting, though. The interesting explanation is that it's a time for prayer and reflection on creation, and where we've been, and where we're going. Most importantly, to reflect on how we're going - Judgement Day.

If we're honest, this is harder than we'd like.
Every man is as heaven made him, and sometimes a great deal worse.
- Miguel de Cervantes

Noting that true Christianity is a sect of Judaism who believes the Messiah has come once, Rosh Hoshana is also the day the Messiah will return to institute the Kingdom.
